Yamaguchi TrackBarrow WB06DBa HELP

Hi, I joined this group a couple of years ago and monitor all the excellent advice. Sadly I need some assistance now with my trackbarrow. It was lent to son-in-law (I know - big mistake!) he used my trailer to return it and drove the barrow onto trailer at his place OK. It arrived here and started OK but during the drive maybe something came lose. I can't get it off the trailer - no drive. The gears seem to engage OK. Pulling back on the drive lever and nothing happens. I've taken the right hand side panel off and can see the belts - they have some movement when pulling on the lever but seem far too slack.
Does anybody know how these are adjusted. Better still an engineer nr Poole Dorset that can assist?

Sounds like just a case of tensioning a cable up a little somewhere. Trace the mechanism back from the belt tensioner to the drive lever- should be obvious.

If the adjuster was loose and was located in a slot for ease of cable replacement it's most likely that it's popped off during transit. A five minute fix.

Thanks for that. The belts seem far too slack and I've taken them off as there was no more slack to be adjusted out. I'll try and find a supplier and see what new belts are like.

Cautrac are the dealer. But belts just don’t stretch enough (unless totally and obviously shredded) that the control lever won’t put sufficient tension on them to engage drive.

Being as it drove up a ramp onto the trailer OK, i think the problem is in the activation mechanism somewhere.

Often on these sort of machines the engine will be mounted into slots to allow pre-tensioning. Check this.

Good advice and I took a look at the engine mounts. All seemed OK but there was quite a lot of wear and tear on the linkage. I made adjustment to that and managed to regain drive somewhat. I'm surprised how this works and I'm sure leaving the engine running when not required must wear the belts so I'll make sure that we don't do that too often. Fingers crossed now and it's taught me a lot about the 'mechanics' of the vehicle...
