If this is the case i'm sorry,and you can call me selfish,but I would not put myself at risk just because i was worried about loosing my job!
Druid did the right thing by not setting up the crane,where as if he had have just ploughed wildly on and buggered a tyre that would be a definite D.C.M
I would much rather walk away from a job than watch one of my colleagues get driven off site in an ambulance or worse
There are to many people in this country not in that position though the average savings of a uk household is £400 with something like 25% having less than £100saved
And these people are being abused
A good company is going to put the correct reporting systems inplace are going to maintain machinery and record it and remove them from circulation so therefore i think its perfectly acceptable to go after the companies that wont implement this
If they are doing things properly to begin with service and daily check sheets are nothing if they aren't doing it you have to ask why what are they hiding and what condition are there machines in
If check sheets are used correctly then there is no reason for a machine to be in poor enough condition to be dangerous and removed from circulation as faults are reported and rectified early possibly saving down time and money over leaving something until the operator refuses to use it
