Spent hours/days/weeks driving one of these for a neighbour when I was about 14/15. Was a 15 year old tractor then and felt like very modern bit of kit compared to other stuff I was driving at the time. Rare to see a 4wd 590. Its got the Hi/Lo switch on dash. IIRC it would run away doen hill in one not the other setting.

You’re right, in low they’d run away, high you had engine braking. There were a lot more 4wd’s than 2’s back in the day.

First tractor I drove was this MF1080. An ex-swedish army tractor that had been repainted. All info was in swedish, I remember the hog and lag lever (multipower?) and the fact it had no proper pickup hitch which made connecting trailers interesting!
