Agree that most things snap on are over priced, however must praise the flank drive plus on the open end of combo spanners got me out of a pickle with a hydraulic line on an oil rig before. Wouldn't have believed they were worth the money unless had used it, cheapo spanner was damaging fitting trying to loosen and got a shot of one, this thing was like using ring end . Picked a set up for £120 10 years ago and looking recently seems good value now
Old britool was a good strong spanner/socket and was what i bought as an apprentice, expert replacement are a bit shorter but quality seems ok. Nowadays will use whatever is best value for task in hand, tool zone, bergen, draper, nielsen etc. Sometimes its a lottery of buying cheap and buying twice but you gain experience each time.

I have a couple of those flank drive combis and they are quite remarkable, what they'll undo
