The funny thing is there was a Chinese couple down on beach when we got there, must have been working out how much they could make from it

Have a look at this thread from a few years ago on Arbtalk - a couple of tree surgeons were asked to cut a dead whale up for a tv autopsy, and had to go back a week or so later to cut it up more to get it in some skips...

They used to cut them up here a few years ago as machines up here were to small to move them whole its a horrible smell when cutting them up

Seems a bit daft really - it should go back where it belongs. It is from the sea and should go back there to feed more life. Instead it goes to landfill. I mean wales don't really expect land based burials.
We have some weird rules.

Last one got buried on beach by another contractor never went deep enough and was back up next day so they didn't want a repeat of that,
