do it as well as you can,but learn to do it better
Seem to have been avoiding the heat today by spending money πŸ˜† 🀣
Went out first thing and stuck a couple of extra sleepers on the bridge, just didn't like it with a gap in the middle. Takes a d4 commercial, unlike the Albert Bridge in London- missed the 3ton gvw sign, another 80 quid to the bloody mayor πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈπŸ€¬πŸ€£πŸ€£
Did a few errands, including picking up a new milwaukee framing nailer- bloody hell does it drive 90mm nails!
Got back to the yard, sold the log splitter I bought at Newbury Auto jumble, decent profit for no work, and I kept the new looking top link πŸ‘ Middle aged couple came and picked it up in a nissan leaf of all things πŸ˜€ πŸ˜† but they came when they said they would, with the agreed amount, so who cares πŸ‘
Went inside, browse on Facebook- roof tent of the type I wanted came up, local, good price, log splitter money in my pocket- I'm on my way πŸ˜† 🀣
By pure chance it turned out to be on the farm where a mate keeps his 6 wheeled Austin (with the mower hanging off the back in the last post ), it's a small world sometimes 😯
See all sorts of 'contraptions' on Facebook for lifting rooftents on and off, guy lifted it on with a telehandler, I lifted it off with the forklift. Life's just easier when you have machines πŸ‘πŸ‘
surely that Disco isn't 3t or did you have a trailer on?

3240kg gvw according to Google, which is pretty much what I'd have said of the top of my head.
Ironically even with my tools in I'd imagine it sits at less than the weight of an empty 7 seater- those seats are heavy!
Hows the D4 working out for you? Has it been reliable so far?

It's been good so far, but playing up a bit the last week πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ Gone into restricted performance a couple of times, due a service and brake pads. It'll get some attention this month.
I've done about 20k in it since April 2024, loaded it to the rafters regularly, towed 700 miles in a day and been all over the country in it so I can't complain πŸ‘
It certainly came along at the right time, and I far prefer it to the 21 plate ranger I had before.

Doesn't surprise me, I think d3/4s are a weird hybrid of monocoque and ladder chassis, so they almost have 2 chassis! Big lumps of car but doesn't feel like it to manoeuvre to me πŸ‘

About 2.5t unladen, not sure what the weight allowance is for 7 passengers. I’ve been impressed how well mine went with the Ifor tipper loaded behind it the last few weeks.

Well if this one is nearly as good as the last one I had (last 3 pictures), and depreciates at the same rate, I'll be very happy 🀞🀞

Blimey not posted for over 2 months! Been a very busy couple of months to be fair-
275 posts, 500 rail and 4 gate fence took up most of July, mixed in with a decent sized driveway dig out, kerb edging and stone up.
August I'm not really sure what I did work wise, finishing the driveway, couple of days digging at the barn and landlady's, day in a wood with the digger, couple of odd and sods.
July was pretty much all work but August and September have had plenty of days out -
Operation Market Harborough and the Great British Land Rover show (wasn't that great πŸ˜†), couple of one day tractor shows, a 2 day one at Hatfield House- drove 2 of the tractors there and back as its only 5 miles from the barn πŸ‘
Also had a day at the auction and a round of golf. Then last weekend was the LRO Show at Belvoir Castle which was brilliant.
Tomorrow afternoon we're off to Bedfordshire Steam Ralley at Shuttleworth for a long weekend, helping a mate take a selection of ex military trucks. I've not been before but apparently its a massive rally πŸ‘

Few more pictures- had a dumper for the landlady's job so moved the muck heap, about 25 loads. Interesting lifter supplied by the builders on a job. The driveway after being surfaced, complete with custom stainless acco covers and pipe cover!
LRO Show 5 fire campsite πŸ˜† 🀣
Found the back of the 110 got in a right bloody mess when camping so I spent this afternoon making a plywood shelf unit. Bit tricky trying to make the most of the space while still being able to get it through the door....
