I had a 788 case duck with an offset boom .
You do notice the extra weight but you also get used to it . I didn’t move mine much on account of wear . I would offset it where I wanted it for digging and then leave it in that position while working til I needed to change it again for digging position . 4K hours no wear at all I could notice .

Yeah, I find with my digger it’s best not to move the dipper much on account of wear. So I put the boom down and track back to fill the bucket

I do remember JCB offering this on the JS 70. If you had it running a pecker was not recommended by them. As opposed to the non offset std boom

No pecker use.

Little bit of digging, little bit of ditch clearing, moving 3 to 4m long tree lengths using grab, moving stuff like soil, aggregates equipment & IBC cages full of fire wood ect (yes I know I need a dumper but costs & dont do enough of it) fixing dirt track is about the limit of its use. Prob less than a months work spread over a year.

I`ve had a hitachi ex75ur for years.
stability and lifting no problem, you loose a bit of reach compared to a king post machine.
I`ve not really found any big disadvantage to a king post machine, some advantages pulling offset, your still looking out the front rather than the side or over the bonnet.

Not a fan of zero tail but that does show why they can be useful!!
