Been looking at diggers without the slew function but with pivoting arms.

Will i miss the slew function?

i dont dig much, no footings ect, the odd small ditch mostly moving stuff & grabbing stuff especially logs with a fixed grab.

a lot of pins/bushes to accrue slop in and heavy but I too like the concept, much to most folks disdain .... think 99% of 'em'll be grey imports IIRC

Vulnerable top ram on that machine and lots of potential for slop too- wouldn't be my choice personally. Fixed booms have theyre benefits as better visibility and to me they feel less gangly then a kingpost machine.
If your using a fixed grab or thumb to stack logs then the offset has its uses sometime to get the angle on the stack. Ditching I love the offset as can work in much closer to the ditch for visibility of the near side

never used one but looks like a fair bit of extra weight in the boom especially for a zero tail, could be a bit noddy

I have used those booms before and I liked them, wouldn't class them as heavy and wouldn't wear out any faster than a kingpost.

That was my worry but then my old digger has so much slop is was an art to stop 6" before you needed to end up in right spot.

Struggling to find any that are not scams. They have 2 or 3 i like but your not the first to say dont buy there.

Any old s**t bought from auction, sold quick and you have bugger all comeback when it doesn't work.

QF famously even delivered different machines than the customer had paid for!

Are qf tractors the same as agri sales Ltd? Just down the road from one another..... anyone dealt with agri sales? Iv heard things about qf so would like to stay away but agri sales have a handler that looks okay

There are a lot of these on railway work, and similar work where you need to dig in line with the tracks. Offsetting the boom gives better visibility than the normal king post set up. Plus with the cab facing where you’re digging you lose less reach when offset,

Turns out they kept selling s**t after promising trading standards they'd stop lying. But they didn't so ended up in court.

So that must be why QF are no more and we have Agri Sales instead. Father and mother banned from selling so sons continue.

nearly had this off Barnsey some time back ...

supposed to be strong old tools and pretty good lifters too (boom base pin is well back inside the slew ring) ... he'd sold it 'fore i got to see it, next day (in about 6hrs of it going on fleabay) ... looked for others, but thin on the ground ..... I know some one who has one locally and he really rates it as a weapon

I had a 788 case duck with an offset boom .
You do notice the extra weight but you also get used to it . I didn’t move mine much on account of wear . I would offset it where I wanted it for digging and then leave it in that position while working til I needed to change it again for digging position . 4K hours no wear at all I could notice .

I`ve had a hitachi ex75ur for years.
stability and lifting no problem, you loose a bit of reach compared to a king post machine.
I`ve not really found any big disadvantage to a king post machine, some advantages pulling offset, your still looking out the front rather than the side or over the bonnet.
