There’s more to bucket geometry than just the hitch, it plays a big part, but a badly designed bucket can ruin the best of hitches.
Let alone the build height advantage. I do wonder if part of the reason the Whites hitches I have experience with suffer from too small dipper width on the buckets. Kubotas always seem very narrow on their buckets for some reason. The S type, even the smallest size, always seem to have a nice wide yoke and this helps a lot to reduce the effects of play
I cant find a picture of it, but pretty sure with most of the whites hitches I've used, the bucket ear to ear measurement isn't as wide as the actual machine itself. So if you wanted to direct mount it, you couldn't. All the JCB stuff I've got would fit under the hitch or direct mount, and the extra width really helps reduce play. Not sure what models your referring to but Kubota KX61/71 is same dipper width as JCB 802 series - and KX and U17 range is same as JCB 801
so I think KX27/U27 will prob be same dims, also I think JCB new 1.5t range still on same dims ?

Edit - found a pic of what I mean. Bucket looks narrower than the dipper? I have a video of this machine. 300hr U17 with inches of play in the bucket.
Im pretty sure only the the Pin centers vary between KX71 etc and JCB 802 series and by 5mm - dipper width and pin diameter the same.Yes often all the buckets are the same no matter what machine there on it saves swapping heads on hammers and other attachments.
I didn't think that JCB/Kubota were the same I thought the distance between the ears was a bit tighter by a couple of mm on one of them
If thats right its an odd one ........you can pin whites buckets straight to onto my - u17.I cant find a picture of it, but pretty sure with most of the whites hitches I've used, the bucket ear to ear measurement isn't as wide as the actual machine itself. Same for my U10 & U27, the Whites buckets go straight on.If thats right its an odd one ........you can pin whites buckets straight to onto my - u17.
He's cut his bar down in length so it sits behind the pedals. Quite a handy spot.My whites spring hitch has been ok, the retaining pin can be a pain if stones get in, but it's not a huge issue.
Their buckets on the other hand seem ok, well built weight not too bad.
Geometry is horrendous not sure if it's the hitch, the buckets or combination of both, really struggle to cut a clean vertical edge, although could just be me but even at around 1m deep or less no matter if I move the machine forward or back the rear of the bucket will catch before the digging edge.
The lever bar is a bit lacking compared to others I have seen although could just be a poverty spec supplied by the dealer it's literally a straight round bar with a circlip, not bothered about it not having a crappy plastic handle but if it had a thicker piece of metal rather than the circlip it could probably be mounted somewhere with the risk of it sliding out
LikewiseMy mates machine which I hire occasionally has a whites spring hitch. Couldn't rate it because operator skills would be to blame

I have a JCB hitch on my 3t and its 3500hrs and hardly any wear. What bar is everyone on about
I thought whites hitches came with a bent peice of rebar
And whilst whites spring hitches come with wear built in are any other manual hitches any better
I'm sure if someone actually sat down and thought about it, you could make a manual hitch adjustable for slack but openable with a bar
I was told
Hire company's don't like wedge locks due to the ratchets being lost to easily
Some shocking footage I must say.I have a JCB hitch on my 3t and its 3500hrs and hardly any wear.
I sent a vid of a comparision between the 2 hitches to our industry insider this afternoon![]()
Who’d have thought it....Some shocking footage I must say.
JCB hitches stand the test of time, currently they are at the top of the list for spring hitches. Who else has a contender?
I already gave my suggestion earlierSome shocking footage I must say.

Not the best pic but couldn't get at it (didn't realise the skips were full of water till moved them earlierWhat bar is everyone on about
