I usually cut forward with just enough water to smother the dust or sometimes dry so that I can follow the line until I've got a clear score mark to follow. Then I'll cut to full depth from the beginning and slope up to the score with plenty of water. From then on it's backwards and forwards keeping the ramp angle and letting the debris wash away behind me.

I always work on if you can see dust out the back of the back of the saw then it needs more water, the pump bottles can rarely achieve this.

I find keeping the blade cool and clean makes the job a lot less painful, so enough to make it work

If you want to blow lots of money and get pretty much the best all round blade go for a Norton 4x4 explorer.. about £300 each but vvv good!!

Also the guards on Stihls get gumed up and stuck in one position so the water isnt being fed in at the best place. Adjusting them for different tasks usually helps.
Concrete and tarmac made with sea ballast always seems to ruin blades quicker than quarried stone.

Anyone got a good source/recommendations for 450mm dia blades for floorsaw?
I did send Pulvex an enquiry but heard nothing back.
Need tarmac blades for next job but will buy a couple of different blades to keep in stock.

What surprises me is these are all being advertised as tarmac and conc whereas I thought a different blade was needed for each material. The last blades I bought were either general purpose/hard concrete/abrasive (asphalt) but these were cheapo ones and lasted 5 minutes. I want something that will cut fast and last a bit too.

Must say I had a bad experience with Pulvex on some porcelain blades, they obliterated the tiles I sent at them. , he did give me a £200 credit which I need to spend thinking about it!

They all work on everything its just they work better in certain materials. Even to the point that granite based tarmac cuts differently to sea ballast based tarmac.

Got pulvex in my 12, 14” stihls and 500mm pulvex on belle floorsaw all been excellent got the DEWALT extreme in the 230mm flexvolt cuts like a lightsaber !
