what is a good deal ??

I am in the market for a new JCB possibly a 3cx compact if not new some thing with very low hrs but lets assume new for now .

going to speak to my JCB dealer next week it would be a straight cash purchase no PX JCB web site seem to indicate rrp of £51,768 any ideas what a "good deal would be in terms of discount , Im assuming there is some movement possible in the price ?

Plenty of movement on the price on internet, based on my experience.

Talk to the dealer they will sort you out

Not so sure about construction machines but I know when I was pricing new tractors standard discount from Case was 32% off RRP. Most others were similar, between 25-40%

If you are after a fairly standard spec that they have in stock somewhere then there are some great deals about. If you want something that the factory will make bespoke for you then the website prices are more of a reality and I'd hate to think of the lead times at the moment as the factory are on a go slow on many lines. Dumpers they were quoting me October delivery back in May. And that was for something standard!

May not be any use to you but I'd price a regular 3cx as well, don't know how website prices compare but i wonder how big the gap is real world so to speak between a bit of a niche product and something that was/is their bread and butter machine.

its just standard spec i would be after 3cx compact rather than a full size one just because its more compact and fits in most of the jobs we do just as our old 2cx does we dont need the reach and lift of 3cx .

Also looking a used 6 ton wheeled volvo EW60 duck any one have any experience of them ? It would also work for us I think.

it's a Doosan ...... had half an hour in one a while ago ... wobbly and sharp are my overriding memories ... but now't to compare to and a LOT smaller/less planted, than what i'm used to

umm just watched a few videos on you tube of them and that would appear to be a pretty good description , most where of people trying them on demo so not as used to the controls maybe but the hydro drive on them appeared to be very stop start

HI yes still got it at the moment but it would be for sale I'll let you know if we get anywhere with a new one

yes very on/off ... sharp/fierce ... sticks were smooth enough, but so little base weight, you needed to be ultra silky smooth with them and the narrow track made cross carriage exciting ..... dare say some good seat time would improve matters ... if you go for a test in one you'd want decent time on it, or you'd walk away with your head in your hands
