All went well Monday only thing is the track came slack all of the sudden they are brand new do they stretch and take time to bed in ? I have checked the seals on the idler and they are all good no grease leaking out anywhere.

Also it got up to about 85c I have taken the thermostat out and that's a 71c stat is that okay for it to get that high ?

Think I might have a set of the blade extensions if you need them got a box full of them from auction with top hats for breakers in there as well

Thanks for the offer but they were still bolted on the blade thankfully

When I let the remaining pressure off, no air came out as the grease came out I did wonder this tho would it just bypass the seals on the shaft and leak out that way ?

2 jobs done with it so far after the first one it was going up in temperature so ordered a new stat the incorrect one was fitted a 82c when for the engine should be 71c I know it was hot over the weekend but was still going up to 94c before I gave it a break for a few minutes with the bonnet opened and it cooled back down straight away. I know diesel cars run around 90c is that the case for these engines ?

FYI I'm no operator just a amateur

pure guess but I'd have thought there are stops missing to restrict the extension each side ... presumably the extend cylinders are simply attached at each end to their respective track frames and without any limits the carbody'll slide the full length of the extended sliders with sufficient 'motivation' ??
would imagine that extending the track frames with one side supported would produce the same result. Would need 4 rams to limit the extension at dead end ... or a double ended ram with a centre port for extend, fixed centrally in the slider sockets.
the fully extended side must be pretty close to coming out

if that's the case there ought to be some form of stop to limit extension each side

if it was any longer it'd push the one side out completely .....1-8 looks to be a limiter shroud ... will only allow movement half way in each direction BTLs ...... is it in there surrounding the ram

That's just a shield for the cylinder. I know because I bent it up real good one time. Lol.

There is a threaded rod on either side to limit expansion. I'd guess the one of those is bent or something is jamming up the slides.
