114 thousand folk bought them in 2023. And yes a few prob paid 114k!
My dad bought a 2011 base spec defender brand spank new. Think it was £14K. Had a hardtop but no stereo as that was optional extra! He drove it for 5 years with no radio 😂. Chopped in against a Dmax twin turbo which is superior in pretty much every aspect apart pure off road ability

All these companies bought by investment firms making the corps bigger and bigger with no regard for anything other than the money

I like cake
My choice would have been a Range Rover, the only reason I could chose a fender is cause of the stuff I added, it changes the look I don’t mind any sigma that follows. The hard top being tax deductible etc makes a hell of a difference .

On a job the other day, customer had a line up of 3 brand new cars,4 door porsche thing,110 defender and a Range Rover sport, after lengthy debate myself and my mate came to the conclusion we are really lucky to have our vans as neither of these quite ticked all the boxes for us on a day to day basis,I think I would miss the comfort and effortless drive of the grafter .
Seriously we recently had to find a new family car due to my daughter having a major back op,my Ranger and my wife’s Mini Cooper were too harsh a ride,my choice was a discovery but in the end we went for a Volvo xc90, the price difference on a comparable vehicle was massive and it’s a lovely motor.

Today's test drive and buy was this FL2 TD4 HSE .
Bloke selling it was gutted it was going, it was more like talking to someone about their pride and joy at a car show! Given a coffee within minutes of arriving, we were there nearly an hour.
It's got basically new lifted suspension, every factory toy fitted and working, clever little upgrades everywhere, sensible remap, the list goes on.
172k on it but FSH and it drives virtually like new.
Very very pleased for the 2500 I paid, properly looking forward to my winter holiday in it👍👍

Been like that in London for ages. Would be surprised if many lorries are being bought without it now.
I think it's on older ones too. Yeah London have to have London doors too, as well as barriers cameras etc I think

I think the mini window pis 5 star. 3 star is cameras I think but might be wrong.
Lots of dust bin lorries doing other jobs now and the low cab Scania and Volvo's. Look horrendous things to drive. Especially as grabs or tippers
