They are loose from 0 hours
Mines at around mid 800ish it's still going strong but always feels like something going to give

Grease it as I use it during the day. Quite often I'm stood for 10 or more mins so it's easy for me to do during a normal day.
Not much play at all. I'm in the yard tomorrow so I'll take a video.
My jcb 8010 was on 2k hours before that had new pins and bushes. The lad in parts at jcb was surprised. He said most were toast by 1k.
I do keep up with popping a shim or 2 in as needed, which helps greatly

Old fella for big housing company on 16tonner was a mint operator…but come 11ish he was getting shaky.. come 1.30 he was back ontop after a few pints down the pub

I worked alongside a backhoe operator out there for several months, old fella regarded as a bit of legend on a machine in the area and he was very very good but no one could understand a word he said ,all assumed he had a severe speech impediment ,he was carted off to hospital one day , came back a few months later completely coherent.Basically he’d been pissed for about 25 years…

Has anyone seen o rings used to keep the grease in the pins? I hired a 3 ton once and it looked like they had done that.

I think ref grease and wear etc it seems to be pretty variable. Both my 3 tonners I bought used, they were tidy but had a fair bit of wear in the kingpost at even 1500hrs. My little 216 which I've had from new had done 1600hrs and is tight as you like- can barely see any wear in kingpost- was on a hire Wacker ET18 the other day which had more wear at only 400hrs.
I am probably over the top with the grease but think it pays off.

No but my old cat 301.5 had dust seals on ends of bushes. Which again me been me replaced them as needed.

I bought my 8025 because there was sod all ware on the king pin, aswell as boom. Bucket end was/is sloppy. It had just over 2k hours on.
The sister machine was sold after mine. No play in bucket end at all but boy was there slack everywhere else and the tracks were about to let go. It had done around 2.3k hours...not much more at all.
I think I got the better one.

Seen them on some Cats. Good idea while they last.
on pins and small machines, I rebushed my K008 end to end where there were bushes, greased every 4-5 hrs, and they’re already showing slop.

Sometimes Is the design or parts. It’s weird.
Kubotas get wear after a few hundred hours without fail
Jcb 801 range 2007 up wards never sees any kingpin wear .
