Getting back to the original post 🤣
With the dealers help Ive managed to talk my mate out of the yanmar. They sent him a video . It was really good ! You could see all the overspray , bashes , filler , and burst tracks really well. Then they called him to say he needs to hurry up as someone else has offered full price 🤣🤣🤣🤣 When he told them to take the full price offer they sent him text saying they always get full price !!
Anyway , he still needs one so if anyone selling one soon or you see one for sale that looks ok please let me know.

What a bunch of twats by the sounds- glad he has steered clear of that! Sure something will come up.

So only me that buys a digger and not bothered on a resale value. As far as I'm concerned I've spent £15k/£20k/£30k/£50k or whatever but so long as its done as I've asked owt I get after im done with it is a bonus. If I buy a new machine to replace another I just look at is starting afresh, old one did its job, covered its outlay and paid it way. If I get 3k or 12k back then that's great and a bonus.

I maybe a little bit nuts on my method but so far it's worked out OK for me.

Agreed 👍
Someone once said to me about that sort of thing...are you a car/truck/ house dealer or running a business? I know some folk who loose sight of what they doing I think .... constantly wondering if their house and it's alterations will add value...or just enjoy living in it?

I have that conversation straight away with anyone who asks me to do an extension because usually up here it won’t make your house worth more than you’ve immediately spent but you get to live with all the extra space . If they want to add value the conversation early on will save me time and grief .

I was always taught anything is worth nothing unless you intend to sell it. What does it matter how much your house is worth as you can't access it value so it's completely hypothetical. Same with car value. It's not worth it's list price it's just a monthly lease item

Ive the slightly bigger 71-3 which is 2930kg machine on 35mm pins the 61 is 2590kg and on 30mm pins

Cracking machines getting a bit dated now but grade beautifully and cabs comfy enough for 6-6’5 19 stone plus lads doors a bit tight but you get used to turning through it

Touch wood mines be major problem free just usual wear stuff

Yes I have a 2015 one with just over 3000 hrs now. Been faultless, and very nice to drive I find.. I would have another. I would think the one you have advertised could be had for 15k or a bit less . But I guess it is low hours. IMG_20240112_085639_2.jpg

Like Giles I have a 2011 kx71-3 with 4700hrs its pretty much retired but ive no doubt it would do another few thousand.

Find mine noisy and basic and take up on tracking a bit abrupt but plenty of power and if I was starting out and was looking for something that needed to just keep digging and digging I'd prob get one of these old kubotas.

Big fan of the Kx71-3 here. Something like 5600hrs on it now and still going strong. Tracks and rollers have been replaced along the way with other things being operator error!!

That paint does look very shiney if it is original- seems unlikely looking at the gummy buckets, but hand it to Kubota I think their paint job is probably the best out there.
Tbh if it's tight and they're up for a bit of negotiation I doubt he'll do much better than that. Although still think that Volvo I linked to at £15000 and under 2k hours could be worth an investigation too.

We’ve still got a 2014 61, 2000ish hours, had virtually no issues. In my opinion brilliant machines, only negative is they are pretty harsh on the tracking but I would highly recommend them.

What engine is in the ec27c series ? Was it a kubota ? Or a yanmar ?
