Good afternoon mate how are you!
Mate a would have payed a grand for that information man

thank you for your response anyway much appreciated buddy 👊🏻
Happy to raise an invoice for you but it will mean your cabin will take longer to pay off!
I actually missed cleaning the toilet in my weekly costs which as I know myself and others have said, can be more expensive than hiring a portaloo as the firms often don't want to clean other peoples units. This will reduce the margin I posted above significantly.
Another issue is how will you fulfil customers who call you but your unit/units are already out on hire. You will want to form some relationships with other hire firms so you can crosshire to each other. Which leads me onto my next point....
I also wouldn't go with undercutting as your unique selling point. It creates a race to the bottom and thats no good to anyone. Maybe say you guarantee delivery before 9am - or free transport within a certain radius? Both of these are much better long term than slashing the rates and make you stand out from the crowd. And when you need to crosshire - there's some money in it to do so!
I am far from an expert on this stuff - investments can go up as well as down! But I wish you good luck if you do decide to try it and please keep us informed. We all make money in different ways on here and there is no right or wrong way. But I don't think one is going to set your world on fire - you need several to start bringing in a wage for yourself really.

If starting from scratch I would want a built in self clean system.
Get to yard fit water supply & let it do its job.
You could even have it set up to do so on site of water / drains allow.

Stayed in plenty of cheap hotels like this re showers & toilets that get cleaned after each use.

100% sealed electrics / external where possible.

Would fall down that they need heaters a microwave and kettle and optional a toaster.
Be very difficult to water proof these.
In reality I think you would struggle to beat the easy cabins.
Plastic everything with drain holes in the floor. Heaters mounted at ceiling height out the way, gennie and battery completely sealed for the kitchen area.

Ok yes the micro kettle & toaster I give you.

Heating can be under floor in wall or plain old wet rads.

I think wet or underfloor would be to power hungry. Could go for a night heater which tbh I think they should use anyway as it soon gets old listening to a gennie all lunch break to dry your clothes but it's still got to be mounted in such a way as to stop water getting into the system

Battery inverter system that charges via a genny outside of break times.

Using the genny wet rad system to heat a thermal store for unit heating.

;)

That's very much over complicating something that needs to be hard wearing and left on the side of the road.
A thermal store would take up to much room. As would a radiator.
They aren't exactly spacious to begin with.
And once the traveling community found out there is a big battery bank in there then there won't be a big battery bank in there.

The comments were in jest.

What's the rules in regards to having a welfare unit sited on a road?

would've thought the same as for a caravan, if it's on wheels ... legs'd be a different story

Depends how leegit you want to be. Really you need to apply for a permit from the council for a lane closure and they will grant the permit on the terms of traffic management they specify. Some councils don't require a permit for standard chapter 8 signage. Technically though they are to wide to be sited in a single lane but depends on the road and the streetworks inspectors for your area as to whether they care

It's a small bit of road that is separate to the main road, three driveways on it and a pedestrian gate to another house. The start and stop of it links onto the main road and Google maps has it at around 80 yards with a small grass island between the two roads. If that makes sense

Park it on the grass??
Really it depends on your council
Ours would want a permit and a road closure for that as they are anal as hell.

No idea as it will be 1.5 hours away, will put it in the grass but apparently it's a fair slope, so might try and get them to have it on the driveway and save the hassle

If it's the hydraulic wheel type then shouldn't be a problem if it's just a slope. Put blocks on the low side and drop it down to self level. They also have seriously long jockey wheel to help set the blocks underneath.
