But that to me is the end of any chink of freedom that van arrived like the SS or Stasi
But it's tricky isn't it. What form of protesting should be allowed and what not. I think we all agree the extinction rebellion lot sitting on the road could do with a dose of a loading shovel too. But then if farmers blocked roads with tractors should it be allowed even if their cause is entirely justified for doing so in our eyes. Personally I don't think anyone should be allowed to block roads end of. There has to be a better way to protest without causing a complete nuisance to everyday road users... I think that should apply to cyclists too for what it's worth🤣

Shouldn't block roads but blocking parliament, MPs front doors anything relating to MPs should be fine.
I have absolutely no problem with the stop oil protestors chaining themselves to the houses of parliament. It's blocking everyday people trying to make a living.
Some of the Dutch farmer protests are class. I saw them feeding election pamphlets into a forager and spraying it over the local MPs house. This is completely acceptable as it is targeting the person they are angry with.

Don't complain - suggest what's better
I think the whole point of law in democratic societies is that it is applied equally with no favourites being above the rules. Unfortunately it seems that this is no longer the case and it is leading to very bad outcomes. Think black lives matter protests allowed to go ahead unhindered, but individual walkers being harrassed by police with drones etc. It can only end badly. The police in this country work by consent and this is going to evaporate if they are not careful.

I've said this all along bring parliament and any government departments to a stop and see how quickly things get done

If that was my bank, I’m afraid my last transaction with them would be pulling everything out! Simply out of principal.

;) man after my own heart (y)(y) .... however, I understand that this is about to become the norm  ..... and there are only so many places one can 'park' it  other than a very secure tin box
the other thing I forgot to say about the £3k bit above, is if you're paying that level, or above in, ALL banks automatically report the transaction details to HMRC .. no iffs, but, maybe,s .. they are legally obliged - end of.

banking is about to undergo massive changes apparently (we all know where that's headed) HSBC where Jill (Pam's mate) works is about to close 130 branches ... Aber is the second busiest in S Wales, so it's sweet FA to do with viability.

We must NOT loose the ability to use cash. It would be a disaster.
we already have a 'black economy' ... it'll end up as a major player, with nigh on a two tier economy the way it's going
