Had a light coating here yesterday, seemed to cause more problems than a big covering.

..... white all around us, but now't at the house .... will be happy if it stays that way ...... bloody cold winds though

.....apparently 40 years ago today, the worst snow we've had since, started to fall ..... was living in Raglan then .. snow was up to the top of the doors on the bungalow .. 5ft average on the drive ... in 36 hrs.
Got some paper pix somewhere of me up to my shoulders in it .... took two days to clear the drive off enough to get out ..... we'd had some seeeeerious cold running up to it .. like -27/-28C over night and as I've said before some where, 'd had to go drop the fluids out the kit in work, one night, as the antifreeze was sludging and starting to freeze up. From memory the bloody stuff hung about for weeks

My grandmother had a picture of her when she was a teenager sitting on top of a telephone pole with her feet still on the snow.

1947 probably ..... was the same in most parts of the country I understand ..... Ebbw vale where my parents were from had similar and ppl tunnelled out of their house's doors, I was told
can recall a few bits of '63 ... country school I went to - about all that was visible was the bell on the roof ridge, buried in a huge drift
