" The crane responsible for the lift is Big Carl – officially designated SGC-250 – a platform-mounted lattice-boom crane designed, built, owned and operated by Belgian heavy-lift specialist Sarens. It can lift up to 5,000 tonnes at a radius of 40 metres. "

no sense of adventure :p:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
As they say in the classics - I'd rather be on the ground wishing I was at the top of the tower, than at the top of the tower wishing I was on the ground.

Many years ago I did wittnessed a tower like that go bad.
It was a larger section (the rigger was inside the section) and not as tall, but otherwise pretty similar.
We watched the top section being lowered into position when the latice jib on the crane let go.
The jib remained attached by the cables, but was unrestrained, so swung around violently until it calmed down. The tower section broke free and hit the ground.
The rigger was last seen climbing down the internal ladder at record speed.
I don't think there were any injuries, but it must have been a close thing.

very complex answer to a fairly simple job with a big FLT - unless the floor couldn't cope

As you say, doesn't make sence.
If you are putting tracks on it, it doesn't 4x4 or reduction hubs - only needs rubber for roading.

Yes I thought is was a fair price 🥸
There’s a farmer guy up the road who collects and restores drag lines. When I was on the grain lorry I’d often admire his machines.
He had only just completed a very nice irrigation lake using one 😎
