Kier has landed a job to build an accommodation block and workshop at HMP Bullingdon, Construction News can reveal.
The contractor scooped the design-and-build contract to construct a seventh houseblock at the category B prison, which will increase its capacity by 247 to more than 1,300.
The four-storey block will be built offsite in components using modern methods of construction.
It will also be energy-efficient, supporting the Ministry of Justice’s (MoJ’s) plans to cut the prison estate’s carbon emissions.
As well as the housing block, Kier will design and build a two-storey workshop to support prisoners’ rehabilitation, plus a two-storey multi-faith building.

my first year accommodation in Bristol was a 3ft bed in a shared room in an old Victorian house, turned into a hostel for 26 of us - Belle View, 19/20 Grove Road, Redland - we did have the rep. of the best parties though :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Long one today- day and crane- strapped the ladders on the disco roof at bang on 5 this morning, back just after midnight, unloading beer and indoors for 12.30 😴😴
5 lorry loads onto the roof, 2 frames assembled and landed, 4 top boxes fitted.
Should have been 2 days, no question but this lot couldn't organise a chimps tea party sometimes. Not helped by an hour complete stop for wind, and an hour of low level work only till it died down enough.
Nice earner but hard bloody work.
