Water main across stream

What’s the best way to cross a steam that’s deeper than the water main and strewn with huge boulders,

drop the trench down come through stream bottom then puddle each side with some good clay stop the water running down the sand around the pipe?

or come out level and sleve it insulate it and carry it above water level

took one across river and we just sleeved it in scaffold tube and buried it in shalllw trench as moving water doesn’t freeze but steam isn’t a river

Could you not put it in a conduit under the stream. Backfill and reline the stream bed with the boulders, I can't see it freezing under the stream- just ask Greta.

Dam the stream up hill , pump the water past then dig deep through it . Backfill then Remove the dam

Or do it live and backfill over the pipe but below the level of the stream bed with sand bags

Or do what water board use to do and have the main hanging in the air over the stream and cast a couple blocks of concrete around it on the banks as support
Could do the same but use a larger diameter of steel pipe as a sleeve and wrap smaller water pipe inside it with insulation
