British diggers and farm machinery now banned from Northern Ireland without soil-free ‘wash certificate’, due to Irish Sea border

Second hand agricultural machinery such as diggers, tractors and ploughs are unable to travel from GB to Northern Ireland without a new bureaucratic process which is already pushing up prices by £200, it can be revealed.

I remember having to get this done during foot and mouth debacle bringing a wee Kubota out of Liverpool.
Had to employ a vet to sign off that the whole thing had been washed down, disinfected and certified.
It was nigh on £200 for a pen push exercise.

same applies to all road dirt on vehicles surely?? ........ we'll end up with a whole new industry at the ports .... washing everything down ..... and then disposing of all the tish, which will of course now be hazardous waste ...... plus the time delays involved in getting there early enough to join the inevitable queues of vehicles ... so new parking facilities required ........etc., etc., etc ... yet another bloody fiasco

To be honest exporting to NI was always pretty bad for washing machines, I think it’s just reinforced now

Everything at euros looked pretty clean last time I was there, definitely cleaner than it used to be.

Those big stacked loads coming out of York could be interesting to get across the boarder though
