It just shows how dealers can be robbers the real question is what would they have tried to pin it on when changing the pulp didn't help

Well I think their quote
20200105_093233.jpg
meant changing the whole unit - inside the unit is the pump/filter /filter housing and some other gubbings - so the question is I suppose is would they have opened it up and spotted the fact that it was just the filter housing and replaced and just charged for that ? ... the guy gave me the impression that they unplug and change the lot.

Photo shows inside the housing ... pump - filter etc

think that would be far too technical a job for today's 'box fitters' that pass as garage mechanics ... the days of a diagnostic fitter are long gone, :cry:as i have said before elsewhere:rolleyes::( ... fit what's in the box .. if that don't cure it, un-box another bit :mad:

Well done, and welcome to the future - at least until we’re running on hydrogen! Out of interest, how old is the wagon, and how much do you use it?
Only had it a year Its not a new truck 2010 - euro 5 - 160,000 kms Got it made up from a chassis cab - (previous life delivering between depots and was well serviced up) had a new jimeca hook and skip put on it -good paint job and and a general going over - and items replaced where needed ( but looking at the adblue filter not sure if that had ever been changed)
Didn't really want iveco but as I've said before on the forum over here we really struggle over to get what you want and have to take what's available.

Does our job nicely - very handy been able to put skip on floor .... one of those no going back scenarios- Use it daily but dont travel far - 45mins is max - done 13k kms this year.

Nice not to have to trail the trailer round every day as I did with 3.5t tipper

and not just the dealers ...... been pricing a little collet nut for the P38's swivels ... LR only .... no one else does/makes 'em ..... got prices ranging from 22 to 48 quid, each, plus the vodka, for the same item. ....... LR's price is over the ton for the same thing ...:oops::mad:

M30 x 1.0mm ... can just get a finger in it and about 34mm long ....... bloody ridiculous price for a mass produced part ... and was a bastard to get out

Few outbuilding pics - there is an inscription in the Breton language that tells that it was built (commissioned) by a woman in memory of her husband.

Used to be thatch which I believe shows in the way the trusses have been built upon to compensate for the lack of thickness in the slate construction.

The hole was apparently there for feeding the stock inside - the inside is sloped down so food doesnt stick and ends up in a trough which was below.

Farmers that came after had no real care for the building and knocked some openings in the back wall and shuttered them in concrète - occassionally I get a bit of time to try repair what was done - knocked all concrète render off inside to let it breath - repaired an opening at back that had been a small window with granite quoins - they had knocked it to twice the size but done the other half in conc..... I removed the conc and redid it in reclaimed quoins off a démo job.

Looks a nice set up....keep looking out for a hook loader that will take the 8 tonner but going back down the operators licenses doesn’t appeal to me so trailer towing the Kubota and hiring a low loader is still the way forward for me.

I would stick with that too - if you mainly work alone like me .....can only drive one thing at once - to make your hook loader viable it would need to be running aggregate about - and your better of keeping your diggers going and let someone else traipse about delivering for you.
I use low loader for the 8t and mini diggers go on wagon and have all aggregate delivered apart from odd bits in little wagon but no op license here.

Your setup is much like mine and I hope your new 8t works out for you - at the moment I have maybe too much kit for one man to keep up to date, well looked after, repaired etc 🤔
