Yeah me neither, as much as i dont like takeuchis as a rule i did have a day on a 290w i think it was, wasnt a bad thing to be fair to it, i rarely get on a duck nowadays and found it very easy to drive. was painfully slow on the road tho
Yeah this is the problem with ducks. Just too damn slow on the road unless you work in the same village all the time

or you learn to relax and get there, when you get there ....
much the same as self propelled mobile cranes (Fairys, Speedcranes, Rapiers, etc.) 15-20mph in a Fairy is 'going'/butt clenching, at times ....
my Rapier would do 28, flat out with a tail wind and man you knew you were moving  - 15mph in a Fairy can be life shortening/grey hair inducing :ROFLMAO:

I agree . I’ve tramped mine all over the highlands . Just get up a bit earlier and use the back roads as much as possible so as not to piss the whole county off ! I like the handiness of not needing to wait for a low loader as well .

The Latest Wacker Neuson EW100-2 probably bucks this trend to be honest, people I know who have demoed one have been very impressed by its speed, one said on an average 11/12mile trip the machine averaged just over 20mph and maxed at 29 down a hill.

We drove our 30k Mecalac 7MWR everywhere, you just have to settle into the fact it might take you a while, not sure I would want a 7 again for that reason though, the 9 was definitely quicker.

Can you get a duck with selectable 2/4 wheel drive? I can say I`ve ever noticed any, windup is one thing in the back of my mind if I travel any distance.

15mph would be flying along I was down to 6-7mph in my duck as soon as it started going up any hill. How am I supposed to get to another village 12 miles away in that- be almost time to come home again by the time I get there! Then there's all the pulling over to let traffic past every 10mins!

You don’t have to pull over , the farmers never bother !

To be fair the slower your going the easier that is! Some of these tractors bombing along can be a job to get past them sometimes
When I’m flat out in my duck any slight bumps in the road surface and it’s jumping off the ground . The roads are that bad that I can only open it up on the main roads . Had mine out today for a job about 10 miles away . Took me 40mins each way . Moved a steel container then headed back this evening.

Smooth ride in backhoe loaders makes them alot nicer on the road. Last few I've hired the smooth ride hasn't worked and boy you know about it and I believe all the stories I heard about lads tramping old 3c's and 3cxs about.
