I thought our volvo is bad but not as bad as that still rubbish to work with, could it be air in the hydraulic ram
Lol that's jcb for you. Either won't or can't fix it so make the deal on a new one attractive so you go for it so they don't have to pay for it. Me father had the same thing with a 3cx years ago had numerous issues but the worst one was it sometimes used to only brake on one side and you couldn't predict when or which side it would do it. Nearly through a hedge or rolled over on the road a couple of times and went to factory to be fixed and all they would do was dismantle check everything and put back together. When asked why no new brakes were fitted or even complete back axle etc they just replied everything is within tolerance. No good when it's problem persists. End solution same as you offer good deal on a new one a 12 months old to get rid of you as a problem to them not you're problem machine.s**t attitude from Volvo, the bloody thing’s hardly run inI used to drive a 3CX, it was a pig to grade with from day one, various fixes were tried but to no avail. It eventually went back to the factory to get re-built at 3000 hours, the dealer gave us a loan machine at their own cost as well. Even after the re-build it wasn’t quite right though, eventually got traded in for a new one with the dealer offering a fantastic price for the trade-in. Perhaps they wanted to rip it apart to see what the problem was

Funny, I read @Jimbo69 ‘s post as positive one. I suppose we all see things differently.Lol that's jcb for you. I guess you could see it that way but 3000 hrs trying to tell them its not right before they do anything? Not what I'd call positive.Funny, I read @Jimbo69 ‘s post as positive one. I suppose we all see things differently.
Perhaps @DaveDCB got through to someone in Volvo.Had a call from a volvo representative today, job getting done under warranty now, fitter fixing machine tomorrow.
Has someone been looking at this forum![]()

For clarity i wasn't meaning get rid of a customer but what they perceive as a problem customer. I've had this experience with jcb. End of the day no matter how good the deal you still end up paying for the problem machine to go away which shouldn't be the case. Either way it shouldn't need social media to get them to act if that is the case this time. But that’s not what Jimbo said, “various fixes were tried” means they were on the case at least. And theres always a bit more to theses stories than first meets the eye. 3000 hours is a lot before going back to be sorted, but we've no idea how quickly those hours were amassed, or what was done leading up to it going back.
I read it as positive, because they were prepared to take it back to the factory with 3000 hours on the clock, made an effort to fix it to the customer’s satisfaction, and when it didn’t meet expectations then a deal was struck to put the customer in a new machine and keep them happy. I don’t think that was all in an effort to “get rid” of a customer, as you put it, I think that was a concerted effort to keep a customer.
A total contrast to the OPs woes, who up to this point has been totally fobbed off by Volvo. And now has had to take his case to social media to get a resolution? So someone today, looking like @DaveDCB ,has had a word with someone and the ops machine is getting sorted, it’s a great result, but should it have gone this far?
A good result thenVolvo fitter came yesterday & replaced spool’s , difference in machine is night & day now!![]()
