Volvo EC210D excessive oil consumption

I have a 2016 Volvo 210D here in Thailand which has starting using a lot of engine oil (around a litre a day).
It doesn’t chuck blue smoke out of the exhaust once warm but on initial start up and rev up it chuck’s blue smoke out from below engine which I’m guessing is crankcase? As well as a little from exhaust before clearing.
Does this sound like the turbo is on its way out?
Engine/ turbo sound I think has changed too pointing to the turbo.

I will call the Volvo dealership out but they aren’t too clever here so I want to be one step ahead of them.

Last year when then done a service at the same time of the water pump failing they didn’t even change the air filters. Thai technicians always try and avoid changing air filters for some reason. Same on cars/ pick ups. Volvo techs here didn’t even use genuine hydraulic oil.

Anyway I since replaced them with genuine filters. No DPF/ Adblue systems here to worry about.

I’ve never had a turbo fail on me in all the years I’ve been working around machines so would appreciate any input.

Check your turbo for play on the shaft

Pull the boost pipes off the compressor side of the turbo and check for oil in there.

I forgot which but you can have play in one direction but not the other. I think it's the in out play that's bad .
