Volvo ec18c hydraulic oil replacement

I want to change the hydraulic oil on my wee Volvo ec18c Has anyone done this ? Is there a handy way to get the oil in once you’ve drained the tank ? I’ve only topped up oil so far and it’s a right slow pain in the arse operation getting even a wee drop into it via the filler

If you know your oil and jugs are spotless then remove the filter in the neck of the tank.

You’ll be surprised how much particulate there is in a new unopened barrel. We use a pump/filter set up when re-filling, unless it’s impractical.

I've no experience with the Volvo but if it's slow filling I normally get a large funnel and jam it in the filler neck so the funnel can be brimmed while I walk away and do something else for 10 mins

It really is a pain in the arse . I use one of them small water bottles with the pull up lid when I’ve topped it up before .

When I worked in NZ they had loads of mcnaught pumps that screwed directly onto 5 gallon drums with a long hose
They where brilliant.
I have seen 1 item in the UK similar but the pump stuck up out the drum and was plastic so not a great design by comparison.

They even do a battery version.

There oil metering systems are amazing too, just dial in the literage that the machine requires and walk of until machine is full

When I worked in NZ they had loads of mcnaught pumps that screwed directly onto 5 gallon drums with a long hose
They where brilliant.
I have seen 1 item in the UK similar but the pump stuck up out the drum and was plastic so not a great design by comparison.

They even do a battery version.

Macnaught kit is very very good . I got fed up buying cheap grease guns permanently air locking or packing in halfway through a tube . I bought a macnaught grease gun over 10 years ago and it’s so good I’ve got 3 now . 50 quid each but they never need air bled and pump every carton dry

I’m sure it’s the same as my ecr25.clear canister with filter in the middle with black plug on top and breather pipe on that.unscrew the big black nut and pour oil into top of clear canister.easy to do.

Alemite / CAT for me Vin ..... never give trouble and suck the sticks clean
