Replaced unfortunately

so the solenoid coil is 'oil immersed' internally/oil filled/forming a seal against the circuit pressure?????
presumably servo pressure only, looking at the 1/4" hose bank -- is that the hitch circuit??

No the coil is not oil immersed, but the seal between the spool and the coils can leak and let oil through the coil and out the plug

What a crap idea
presumably the seal is integral to the coil then, if a replacement coil cures the issue ?

Well they have been like that for years and ive only ever changed about 3 in my lifetime so they must work ok

If it’s the solenoid that’s failing could it cause another circuit to open on its own ? Like jacks creeping out ?

my best guess'd be - unlikely ... more likely seals bypassing/leaking by

I just cleaned around the selonoid for a better look .
I think the solenoid looks like it’s been getting hot is this possible ?
There’s a bit of a catch on the side that looks like it’s melted a bit and the body of it looks like it’s been heated

Possibly yea, looking at it id say it could be stuck partly open

Solenoid is for 2 stage back pressure according to hydraulic drawing .

It looks pretty rough buddy, the side of it is melted and it’s had a lot of heat . Not sure what 2 stage back pressure deals with !

looks like a servo valve chest to me with all the 1/4" hoses - 35bar max
