used to be loads of 'em around here and can still recall seeing many operating when i was a kid, but mostly taking spoil
uphill to coal tips and obviously powered ... last one I can remember coming down was at Newbridge/Abercarn area ... used to cross the road between the bottom of Hafodyrynys / the Pant and Abercarn
Crumlin viaduct, which can also recall seeing coming down, as a kid, crossed the valley above Hafodyrynys ... pity it couldn't have been saved ... was spectacular ... was used as a location in Arabesque

was one hell of a structure for the 1850s
