I've a little toyota iq. Tax free I bought it beat up of my mates brothers wife. It gets red lined everywhere and stuff chucked in without much regard. Surprising what you can fit in them.

But what a cheap little run about in.
Recently acquired a fiat 500, using as a run around does 46mpg without trying and £20 to tax. Done alot of miles in the ranger mostly running empty, was serviced in April and and will be at the mileage again within a month. Will see how it works out as on the long jobs once all the plant is dropped off, can get away just driving up either on my own or with another lad with just odd drills, tools etc

Remember taking my Hilux in for a warrenty recall when it was new(air bags I think)
Anyway I requested they give me another Hilux as it’s a work truck… they said no, turned up and we had a 3door Aygo waiting for us, unloaded all lazer/Stihl saw, shovels etc into the boot & back seats then folded ourselves into the front.. sales reps faces were a picture, all stood in showroom window watching us 😂

Kia has been averaging a gnats short of 38mpg over the last 7.5k since I've had it .... will carry on logging it, 'til 10k and see how consistent it is (and a lot of that is school runs - does over 40+ on a run) (y)
did 154 miles yesterday mostly towing about 800 kilos .... gauge is still above 3/4 - filled it 'fore I left and will re-fill it tomorrow and see what it did :giggle: (gauges are no true indicators usually)

But late now but for anyone looking at similar I would recommend looking at the VW up. They are absolutely cavonous inside. More leg space than a new Hilux.
I can't drive a manual fiat 500 as my legs are to long auto is fine. But the 4 door VW was sooo roomy

had to go into town earlier, pick up Pam from Vicki's ...
they'd been to Plymouth for the weekend ..
so filled the Kia -- 38.6 MPG yesterday dragging 800 kgs around all day :cool: ...
A roads, M/ways and a lot of town/in traffic trudging and searching for addresses/destinations -- pretty good to be fair to it (as was the sat nav ;):))
trailer and these were 650kgs and had another 150 in the boot
been 'shopping' :giggle:

Is that a dividing head lurking in the boot?
I’ve got 3 of em here looking for new homes. I’ve toyed with using one to make a welding positioner.

They would have been seriously expensive new but since the advent of CNC no one wants them or knows how to use one.

My lad’s got a Skoda Citigo, same car, averaging 50 mpg so far. He’s 6’4” and doesn’t need the seat all the way back.

well it didn't move in the 100 ish miles it did after collecting it and tying it down for the trip and had a pretty wide/varied spectrum of road conditions to tolerate from country lanes to M/ways and a lot of speed humps
I defy anyone to achieve the same with a couple of ratsh1t straps, which is all most folk think is required to secure far more than that load ... was restrained from every angle.
you have to remember Gav - I learnt to secure a load a loooooong time 'fore ratsh1ts were ever invented / available (and [touch wood] have never lost anything off a moving vehicle) and it didn't warrant chaining down

yeh indexing / dividing head - inclinable variety :giggle: ... sold what I had in 'the clear out' sadly .. and this 'un was cheap enough to warrant collection .. after a rotary table too but still making serious money or a million miles away (again binned two  in the 'clear out')

Anyone got any idea what Isuzu Grafters or Nissan Cabstars are making at auction?

Whats the best auction site to sign up to?
Probably eBay....

Could take a punt on copart but that's a minefield of potential scrap

No idea what they are making but avoid anything thing from a well known plant company that is 3 letters long, everything I have had of theirs from auction has been pretty much junk.

Unless it's a genuine liquidation, most of the vehicles are borderline ready for scrapy
