Van Prices 2024

I can relate to both comments above about autos. Was anti-auto when I bought my Dmax, but after selling and buying a D4 I now love autos. Wasn’t particularly looking for an auto van, just ticked all other boxes. Didn’t need high roof, can get 3m lengths of pipe in the back easily and carries the weight better. Downside is turning circle and ability to get into some driveways compared to previous transporter. Sadly on the bigger 3.5t vans autos are quite rare second hand at the moment.

Calmed down a lot in last year, but still inflated massively. Probably still 30-50% higher in real terms than 4 years ago.

Just looking again at it hard. Last chance saloon tomorrow. 24 plate L2/H2 Movano with AirCon in Welsh Wales for 25K on delivery miles. (cancelled order so a bit cheaper than usual) Tempted, but crikey they lose money quick. Looking at used prices.... seem to drop at about £2000 + a year with average mileage. I have been spoiled with buying pre covid Ford Vans at 3-6 years old that only lose about £500 a year in value.

900 delivery miles is some delivery? - came from John O Groats did it ? Demonstrator from last Sept. more like .... what should it be ££s? ..... saved me self £7k on the Kia demo, last March with 2300 on the clock and another nigh on £7k on PCP, by paying cash for it

Warranty runs from March 24... allegedly. But 900 miles is some. Peugot equivalent was 26k locally. So its not mega cheap.. but shows they are trying to sell.

Bmw could reset odometer from 1500 miles to zero upto 3 times very easily, to remove delivery milage or demo milage. Can't say that's a thing now but definitely was back not so many years ago.

Found this on is Sheffield. 23k plus the Vat. 12 miles 24 plate. Not ply lined though and delivery £450. Still cheaper than collecting it though. Deposit paid.
Dearest thing I've ever bought in one go (for work).

That sounds like a pretty fair deal , smart looking van too.
Wait till my lads have been hurtling it around the Devon lanes for a few years! This ones going to one of my senior service engineers who does the most miles. About 15000miles a year. Been fairly happy with the last 2 French vans we bought. Wont be as nice as a Transit but 7-10k cheaper. Its only a silver toolbox on wheels at end of the day.

Well it finally went out on the road this week. Been taking our time getting it ready around other jobs. Had to buy a spare wheel/spare kit/wheeling hanging kit which annoyed me and cost a few££
Deadlocks/Tow bar/interior lights/reverse camera/dash camera/dash USB points/cab mats/seat covers/first aid kits/2x fire extinguishers/ply floor/chequer plate floor/poly lining kit/flettner air vent/full bespoke racking and accessories and singwriting. Not added it up yet but likely about 15% on-top of the purchase price. Will add it all up when I’m feeling ready for the pain. Probably near £27K sat there so far, plus another £15k of stock and tools inside. Bloody dear old business this plumbing and heating lark.

Nice job 👍🏼 rekon over time you'll not regret it. I'd love to redo mine but having everything organised makes for a much easier work van
