I don't know about the trailer or max train weight but those 7.2t ivecos carry about 1.5t more than a 7.5t lorry and plenty over here run those as hookloaders

Just looked up to 4.9t less the body configuration.
Only issue then aren't you limited to about 1t trailer capacity without the correct licences?

Only if you are using grandfather rights.
By now I would think the majority are using proper licenses

If I had to do a licence have up to 7.5t as I'm mature but if I did new licences I think I'd buy bigger

I didn't even get a trailer license so did a full class 1. Now anyone's allowed to do anything

750kg for the trailer

a hook lift gear and body'll bring that down to around 3t then ... my old Iveco'd do 3550kgs, plus another 150kgs with the sideboards and tail off it .. 21ft keruing bed

Our old Merc atego 7.5tonner weighed in at 5.1 ton in her running clothes. Could get 7.6 M lengths of hollow sections in the back which was handy. Often had 4 ton in her

that little Iveco went better with fully loaded bed and 3.5t behind her than she did empty ... was a great truck TBF (aside from the stupid metric wheels - rad. was about 6" off the floor and had to watch where you went )

Unfortunately that truck now would weigh nearly 1t more due to safety features and emissions kit

My old 7.5t hook loader was great but couldn’t carry enough to be properly useful ....i know that one posted up should carry a bit more but still not enough for it to make life really easier, the 19t hook im running now has 5m skip and a swb and it works fine on domestic jobs, not any different to the 7.5t in reality ,never not got it in yet and carries 11t ish - enough to make your life much easier.
