For the record i've a S2, one a half S3's, A 200tdi and a half defender and half a 200tdi Disco.... all in the field where they belong!

I've had me fair share of 'em over the years ... but all went when me yard went ..... zero chance of smuggling any in here past Pam ...... sadly

Best place for any defender right now is in a hedge.... It's a modern classic, but will take a few years to realise it's value.

have you seen what they're asking for the bloody things lately .... a well fettled and sorted landy is a decent enough barge ... but **** going far in one .... wasted far too many hours of my younger life plodding along in an Siii SWB with a gert trailer on its arse. ..... but it was a good vehicle as long as you recognised its MANY shortcomings

I've managed to keep away from land rovers but in the last 3 months I have got a Disco 2 td5 and a l322 range rover V8. It's so much better having two cars, a clean one for the wife and boy and then a work one full of tools and mud. One point of note, in 5 years running a shogun, all I had to change were a few sets of brakes and a oil pressure switch until the car finally died. 3 months of land rover ownership and I could easily spend over a grand on parts. The V8 does make me smile though, if only it did more than 10mpg.

aye .... the privilege/soundtrack has to be paid for .... my 4.6 does 14 on petrol .....
must need a lot doing, to run to a grand on bits, unless they all the expensive ones ...... soon adds up though, 'specially maintaining two of the buggers.

some of the reasons I've never bought an L322 ... much as I've fancied one for years ..... P38s're bad enough .... but more 'work-able' on

I've wanted one ever since I went in a friend of a friends tdv8 but I dismissed it as too risky. Trouble is nice land cruisers are £10-15,000 where as nice rangies are £4500. My one is not so nice but clean enough and £3500.

they're some motor .... would be my choice too ..... but you ain't gonna find one o' they for £3.5K ..... and at that price level ... it's a hand grenade with the pin out

They are too new for me so will be £570 a year tax. My one is 2005 petrol 4.4 Jag engine so £350 tax but probably still a hand grenade.

Thanks for the contact Ross - woman was good to deal with - price was about same as my other quote but I gave them the job as they could pick up more or less straight away and get it down same week - all being well its been collected tomorrow and be down by friday
