Blow out again today on the same wheel 🤔 it's spat metal into the tyre behind it so replacing the lot.i
Looks like going to try the nankang this time as seem to be the only 12 ply tyre in my size from what I can find out all the others are 8
Not the best pic but it isn't a bald patch where its gone bang?

Not sure, was only that little thin patch for around 200-300mm not sure if it was caused by the tyre popping as the rest of the tyre was in good condition.

Clutching at straws with this guess but something went bang so I pulled over to have a look but as I was on a country lane, decided to drive couple of miles or so to an industrial estate to swap it over. Maybe the tyre stopped rotating for the journey and wore that bit down??

I did take another poor quality pic from a different angle but didn't really look when took the pic

Ifor trailers if not used for a bit can be a bas**rd for sticking brakes. Depending on how trailer was sitting height wise behind towing vehicle I've seen a wheel with v little weight on it stick a brake and burn a hole in tyre in v short time. If ur traveling fast enough can be barely any smoke to see in mirror. Doesn't look like tread has been dragged but does look bald off pic.

It's an odd one, maybe the brake did stick in the trailer hasn't been used for month or so, bald patch just looked isolated to that one section.
Going to drop it off to local trailer servicing place when they can fit it in and just get all the brakes serviced

Original security tyre that came on the trailer, the trailer is a little over 4 years old although no idea on the tyre age. Was surprised when it went pop

Whilst its done no mileage it has been in the light getting UV damaged & there is some thoughts that say not using it allows it to harden as the polymers migrate.

I would guess, the tyre carcase has failed internally and developed an egg in the tyre, causing the wear in one spot before letting go, quite possibly due to the increased heat in the area of the egg.

I've had ifor wheels seize up whilst driving before. Might be worth checking the brake shoe stuff hasn't fallen off. I've had it on a couple trailers now.
Also the drums can go out of round.

Yes it's definitely worth Jacking it up and giving the wheels a spin.

Having read the article above I didn't realise that mopeds and agricultural vehicles/trailers don't have rules for tyre roadworthyness

Ifor trailer brakes are renowned for the lining parting from shoe and holding brakes on would be first thing I'd check
Did 2 complete new axels on my other halfs newly purchased horse trailer as previous owner took hammer to stub axels to free brakes off and mullered the ends 🤬
Was just cheeper to replace complete axle than put new drums bearings shoes and stub axels on
