Had a ceder stump to fetch out, real pig with 12" roots.

good half a ton and the engy grab on the 3 tonner kubota lifter it sweet as.

One of those times when I could have got it on the wagon with a strap and couple planks but instead done in a couple mins while sitting down.

I use that grab all the time now and when on site without the machine faffing about with straps to lift on our 5 tonner seems to annoy the piss out of me....

Try that with a zero tail and you might have struggled!! Are you running S40 hitch with EC Oil?

I always find the job a lot easier if you take five minutes to scratch the soil off the back once you've got it out with the ripper.

the kx030-4 is not quite zero but could do with a bit more weight as the S40 is heavy.

S40 isn't available with EC-Oil, Shaun. Its the QS series that has this facility and the smallest one at the moment is QS45

I cant post any pictures of what I've lifted with my tilty as none conform to any kind of lifting regulation
But I can tell you that it hasn't affected my previous lifting capacity from before I fitted the tilty. And as that was one compromise I thought I'd have to make I am very happy with the results.
Planning on making a hook mounted under an S30 bracket as it would make it very quick and easy moving bulk bags around which is something I have to do regularly and should bring me back into line with LOLER again

Wouldn't the whole machine have to be tested along with check valves Bering fitted ??

nah .... won't cost a lot ..... it's only a light capacity required .... I used to get all sorts of lifting contraptions tested regularly ... for not a lot.. only a strain gauge test rig for summat on that scale

Attachment to have a proof load test of 1.25 x SWL and to be witnessed by a competent engineer
For the machine to be accepted under LOLER then all rams to have a rupture valve, this also included bucket ram if you wish to use it when lifting otherwise it must be crowded in such a manner that if something was to fail the load wouldn’t move to such degree.
must have an audible and visual alarm inside of cab also.
You can retrofit something along the line like x watch XW2 or XW5 RCI

depends a lot on what sort of 'birth certificate' the machine comes with and if it has a given set of duty charts from the manufacturer. Plus whether it is used for hire and reward or own personal work and where it is used

All rams need to have rupture valves, machine to be fitted with audible and visual alarm and as you say a lifting chart. For that machine and spec.
Uk standard is to have rupture valves on boom and dipper, usually an optional extra to add to bucket ram.

Lifting with any excavator is a minefield that you either know, understand and comply with or simply don't post pictures to www where others can rip the s**t out of you
Seriously, be careful, very careful when it comes to lifting.

I have had homemade stuff Loler checked okay. Just put a sticker on it saying SWL and then test to 120% (might have been more) in front of the friendly loler guy.

used to make all sorts and cheap enough to have tested and cert.ed
