In the big scheme of things £50m for contant power generation doesn't seem too bad when compared to offshore wind. According to google (so take with a pinch of salt) powering 10,000 homes needs 10 to 15 megawatts. One single large offshore turbine could produce 8mw sometimes and can cost £30 million.This is potentially quite a groundbreaker (pardon the pun) 15 years of money into a project with no return (yet) must have taken some big balls and a lot of negotiating.

Wates Residential has contracted UK Power Solutions (UKPS) to install a ground source heat network for a new housing estate in Cardiff.

The Cornwall scheme is running with a DT of 80C which is crazy — and delivering 190c. That’s a deep hole ..
