Someone on the radio phone in about this said they looked up the system every day to get an earlier cancellation. No idea how this works.
Once you have a test booked you can get an app that finds cancellations for you, but can’t do it until you have one booked. One of my stepsons did this last year, the other one has a test booked in Sunderland in April (we’re near Aberdeen) but this means he can get the app and look for cancellations in Aberdeen. The whole thing’s a shambles just now.

The apps are third party money making bots but you don't have any option if you need one faster.
He's booked in but can go on like you say every day and hope to try and beat a bot to a cancellation or new earlier slot. Some hope
The issue is ADI instructors can book...so this opens the door to Abdul and friends...theirs a BBC investigation into it all.

Welcome to 2026. Still blaming it on COVID!

The solution is staring them in the face but no they have had a consultation etc etc.

was always a shambles even back in the '70s when I did my tests ... had three dates cancelled each, months apart ...
The old man got so PO-ed with them he rang a mate in the ministry, pulled a few strings/favours and had a date in a week.
it'd taken that level of 'influence' to actually get to a test centre over a 9 month period ..
was very frustrating, annoying and bloody inconvenient as I'd been 'ready' since 'week one'

The firm I did my truck licence through seemingly had tests available every week - I can only assume they are able to block-book with no actual candidate details necessary.
Surely having to book a test against an individual driving licence number would sort the job out in a simple, fair way?
