Be even better if they were like the robot vacuum cleaners where you just set a map of what you want done and leave them to it.
'til they get themselves in a knot :(

A robo-vac changes direction when it bumps into something.
These beasts eat anything they bump into - what could possible go wrong?
My robo vac maps the area to clean then navigates round it, avoiding obstacles. It even works out the difference between carpet and hard flooring and decides whether to just vacuum or to vacuum and mop. Things have moved on since the crash into stuff to find out where it is.
They make robot lawn mowers that work the same way without the perimeter wire these days. A house near near has a large garden and runs two robot mowers that go out a dawn every day and cut the grass and it always looks immaculate and I’ve yet to see or hear them run into his helicopter.

I got one (robovac) about a year ago, made by a company called Dreame, it’s impressive to see it vacuum & mop, the way it avoids obstacle, if it sees a pet in the way, takes a picture of it & sends it to your phone, as it cleans round it.
It’s a bit like a 1970s Daleak though when it comes to stairs;)
