detestable things ... SIL had a couple ... spent 3 days under one of 'em looking for something to weld to for MOT ... multi layered sandwiched together sh1t :(:mad:o_O:censored::censored:
Couldn't agree more. Fiat rust bucket.
Bought one for the daughter as her first learning car. I found a gem of a cheap reliable Toyota Yaris, but no, the Ka was much sexier.
First time in our ownership checking it for MOT prep, both front struts leaking, complete replacement rebuild.
Second time at MOT, seating cup for spring on rear sub frame rusted clean through. Just like above, spent too much time building up something to weld too.
A couple of months before last MOT, that cars sitting wrong, whole spring pushed through on the other side. Too far gone to weld this one, new sub frame was order of the day. Bugger that, more than the car was worth. Shot it to WBAC, good riddance. Always felt like a tin can death trap.

Wouldn't take the gift of one.

Wife had one when I first met her. Think it lasted 5 years untill one Christmas day she was going to work early and hit a stretch of ice, nose dived into a ditch. Fortunately being Xmas day the roads were dead at that time which made it very convenient for me to drag it out with landrover and drive it home- subsequently a right off as the whole car had twisted apparently. I did get 108mph out of it on the M5 though

You're a very brave man.

I did have a Smart Roadster at one time (mid-life crisis according to the wife), did see 105mph on the gauge one late night on a deserted motorway stretch (downhill), scary little things.

They were a ferocious wee bugger and knew how to bite back at the most unlikely moment. Thought I was a goner one early morning when I hit black ice, not doing any more than 40mph, but ended up doing 3 x 360's on middle of two lane B road, thankfully bouncing between kerbs, fair drop off to one side.
Thought it was time to wise up after that, sold not long after.

did a similar triple pirouette on black ice on what was fortunately an empty 3 lane road, at about half two in the morning in a V8 SD1 ... drove it regularly, few times a week .. was one huge sheet and I was doing the 50 limit ... had a hell of a job to get under way and off it .... treated that stretch with a lot more respect/caution after that, if it was frosty :oops:
