It tows that lot easy but I had 2.3t of stone on it the other day and I think the box may have had the occasional slip. It would shudder if you gave it a bit to much Welly.

Mine is 3.6 tdv8 and tows very well.

Sign of tc wearing. You can put shudder fixx in but obviously it's just to give you extra time to get round to it

I like those L322's but there is a lot of crap out there, alot have gearbox or suspension problems. We had a loveley P38 but it was a 4.6 and did 11 to the gallon and towed my 1.5 ton mini no problem, When we first got it I cleaned and dinitroled the whole underside, made up all new brake pipes and fitted 4 new dunlop airgags on the suspension it was a cracking car wish i had kept it now as their prices are on the up now.

Big bills coming my way no doubt, Its worth it though bloody lovely car. Also for 300hp with no turbos to worry about I think 15mpg is not tooo bad.
I think the early 6 cylinder diesel had the s**t auto box. My ones supposed to be the good one but can't expect to much at 150k miles.
I would love a nice red V8 P38 with cream leather.
I would go for coil springs though, air is a pain in the ass.

I know the colour and spec you are talking about that is a nice colour combo, I think i will take the plunge later this year on a L322, The wife has currently got a Kia Sorento turbo diesel with manual box and that tows like a train, They were towing vehicle of the year for several years its just the Kia stigma to some people but you really cant fault it as its basic and doesn't have loads of electronics to go wrong.

no ... the compressor's're a piece of sh1t ... the suspension's lovely

Those compressors are quit simple to take apart and rebuild, the rebuild kit is cheap, There is an old Wheeler Dealers where they pick up a P38 and Ed rebuilds the compressor its a good watch, The airbags are really straightforward to replace I changed all four in a couple of hours, I also have the Hawkeye diagnostics for the P38 as had all the dash out to do the heater O ring and Put it all back together connected the battery and did not reconnect the air bag i realised just as I flicked the key bugger! Anyhow the Hawkeye soon put the warning light out!

yeh done mine a couple of times and have a spare sat rebuilt too .... bags are a POP .... got a little weep on my O rings ... can ****in' weep too .... some bar steward of a job innit? ..... 'least getting at 'em is

Yes its a pain to do you need to take the steering wheel off and get the dash binnacle out then you can get in with plenty of swearing I spent a good afternoon doing it, If you google Range Rover P38 heater O ring there is a really good thread step by step with pictures which I found very useful.

If you do go for a l322 I wouldn't get rid of the Kia, maybe stash it somewhere whilst the l322 proves it's self. The first special tool you need for a landrover is a spare car.

Been on the 8026 for the last couple of days levelling and topsoil, ground is really soft and worse as the dumper was going over it, so not the best finish on it

back digging on the leak, getting tighter, not a lot of space to spare and 4 sets of crossing drain pipes plus a water main to contend with.
