Doesn't look to be- it's actually tied back fairly well. The topsoil has slumped but underneath (and hopefully under the wall footings) it's firm sand, which hasn't moved.

Good call on the shuttering - why the f**k anyone would want the hassle and risk of all that for an outdoor swimming pool in the u.k god knows.

Few photos from our nicely uneventful last few weeks- some interesting enquiries in the offing - canal work around a watermill and enquiries from a national outfit looking for someone that they only have to pay 3months after the works are complete... so thats a thanks but no thanks and I look forward to continuing successfully nibbling away locally as we do.

Are you working for builder/pool installer or house owner? That’s a Big hole close to the house in running sand and that shuttering looks on the lighter side.

Have emails from the house owner saying he’s happy doing it like that. I’m on day rate under his instructions. He’s doing all measurements etc.
Those poles are a good three feet into the ground and the sand is solid. It’s only where the sand weeps then you’d have an issue, but the shuttering stops that. Plus with the stone we are now back above the water table.

also the sheets are 3m in places as it’s all I could get. So it’s not as deep as it looks, it’s only 2m.

On one, I’d battered it back to one in one and the next morning it had flowed into the dig like treacle.

Back in February I stacked up a spoil heap to gain access to ground behind it - probably a couple 1000 tons of decomposed granite (Growan) it was frozen Baltic conditions when I was doing it - I came back a week later and a good couple of hundred tons had completely spilled out the side of the pile (I'm guessing when it defrosted), bit of an eye opener how ground can shift like that TBH. Before and after the melt!

Glad you got yourself covered. To me that looks like trouble ahead. it looks like the brick wall, it's footing and everything it's retaining is relying on ground that is destabilising!
