We use a corded recip saw with some bosch aggressive blades, they last a good while.
Had to get through these, to do a water connection 6” and 10” cherry roots with only 1.6 tonner so chainsaw old chain was the best option then break last bitTbh the sds+ chisel blades fly through timber and are fine for roots though they loose there edge a little bit. I thin what's really needed is a bigger machine

what ticket'd he need to drive a sharp axe though ...... and would it cover him for a blunt one ?I found a willing 9 year old a sharp axe surprisingly good on last stump I did...however he's had fun getting CS card for big sites...think there's a bloke down south west that can train him...
