Had to get this from the unit today as my other is still out on hire to a friend ( 4 day job that’s been a few weeks 🤦🏻‍♂️) and we’re starting to dig our extension footings next week. It feels huge compared to my other one that’s on the optional smaller wheels.

Today’s shenanigans lift 10 bulk bags of top soil into a back garden that has only narrow doorway threw the garage and even less down the side😳

Managed to get them about 4 meters onto the lawn 💪

Another stoning up mission, another 20 tons of 20mm to dust bit trickery this one.

Stone tipped in council carpark 1/2 mile down steep narrow lane that’s testing 1st gear all way job in dumper. Not used the dumper in over a year leaking hydraulic pipe fixed easily but then on 5 th of 7 trips (2.7 ton a trip even loaded to spilling point) cut out coming out the lane onto the road section and dash almost set on fire!

Huge short, bare copper and melted insulation everywhere, has got road kit but most smashed so cut as much out of it as I dared and taped up the rest to get us going. Just what you need in 30 degree heat with sweat dripping off you in direct sun blocking the lane , anyway it’s Back in yard now awaiting auto electrician.

So got that ferried up then took digger up the lane , 1.6 ton Kubota hot pose to spend the day! Thank god for the dewalt fan and 12v fridge in truck full of ice and cold water.

6 3 ton dumpers loads of grass scraped off and losts in a hole (handy my stone masons farm the land around it)

Laid it out and whackerd looks a bit more presentable now as just been refurbished and is for rent currently .

Well done 👍 i hate compacting anything in heat like this- clouds of dust and just doesn't bind properly

Good job we were just outside the hosepipe ban, gave it a good soaking only way to get it to bed together

Tested new extending pole on site cabin for 4g cctv led lights, infrared flood light etc

And stripped hessian and scaffold on lime pointing job

Best bang some invoices in…

I did a similar job a few years back. Scrapped all the turf off and bunded, then rejuvenated with 803, but like the hottest day of the year kinda heat and as you can see not a great job getting it to bind- but came back a few months later to see and it's like when it rained all the fines gets washed nicely around any looser/gravelly areas and all goes tight

Same here this week, I'm convinced the material we dug out has negative bulking.

Dug out and laid 100mm ducting and sand over, backfilled and by the time we ran the jumping jack over it the trench was low and we had nothing left to top up with. Had me scratching my head!

Other areas were like backfilling with talcum powder.

Just had same , dug out and backfilled about 100ton on deep drain run , always have some left but was scratting around for it by the end! It was a hard dig as well.

Hedges done 🥵🥵.

3rd cut! Dry and dusty and not a huge lot on.
25 plate chopper.

And then chill before letting our kid loose on the field 🤣

2nd that. You oiling it? Osmo 420 works ok.
2 coats of preservative 1st. Even though not needed I want it to last.
Went to paint shop i use in the week told by my painter to ask for certain girl. What a pleasure to speak to so helpful and knowledgeable (and pretty) not very often these days I'm impressed but she was great. Told me to bring some offcuts up and we'll try a few different products on them by popping a few tins. I didn't realise no clear coat that she knows of or they stock has uv protection.
The uv comes from the added pigments apparently

Osmo claim the 420 does but still goes grey but best of the clears prob..but she's dead right pigment is the way to protect 👍🏻
