I don’t bother with the cordless saw but if I’m dancing around in a hedge with my 254xp then I want some protection.

Agreed. Each to their own but in the woods and hour from any form of hos I get every bit of protection I can ...oh errrr

I've a 254xp, it runs great for 20mins then locks up solid. I'm not a chainsaw person so it's left forgotten in the shed. I could get it out tomorrow and itd start and run well for 20 mins, Dare say it's fuked..

Temperamental things. I have a k76 that won't start. Got fuel and a spark and feels reasonable compression, but I think it needs a pot and piston.
I have a 365 xtorque aswell that is like new only done about three hours when I moved into a house without a log burner.

I've also got an old makita badged dolmar, that's got some power. I think it's 1997 year. That needs the chain brake sorting and a rubber mount disintegrated too.

My first saw was a 254xp. Was fantastic when it was running right. But could also be a right bastard sometimes. Same with the 550xo that replaces it. Both gone now and only got the 357xp which I keep just in case - that has always been a good saw for me if a little weighty

550 xp MK2 way better . Prob my go to firewood and snedding saw. So light and rips

Funnily enough sharpened my little husky and got it running this morning ready for work this morning, found petrol chainsaws always a pita

My first ‘big’ saw was a Makita (ie Dolmar) 7900. What a beast of a machine, pulled a 30 inch bar all day no probs. It’s here somewhere in a box in need of a new exhaust, I might have to hunt it down and treat it to some love!

I was tempted to bring it out for tomorrow's job, but no way could I let anyone else use it, I would like to get it sorted but as I said chainsaws aren't my thing so it needs someone in the know to get it tip top and with that been said it's probably getting on 5 years since I last had it out.

Extension cracking on neighbours commenting on the Great Wall lol (still got another 700mm to go to parapet) shot to the yard Sunday to grab my scaffolding and trestles

Forgot there’s a long slim window in big wall to go above units luckily Mrs spotted it tonight and took blocks down while green still.

Mad push this week as back to client work next week
