Some retaining wall footings started today, is the right weather if we did decide to go for a dip! Making sure lads taking it nice and easy with dumper. Also got slab ready at weekend ready for concrete later in week on garden room.

Trying to diagnose at a distance, sister has a transit 2014 2.2 with 159k that was blowing oil out of filler cap - garage put a new seal on cap and sent it back, few hours later limp mode and oil coming out of cap , she has disconnected breather and it appears to be clear but breathing a bit, ke I say it's hard over whatsapp.... are they known for it, can it be blocked where breather goes into egr ?

Hard going here, expected it so took a mini with a breaker to job, but didn't need it in the end, those ripper teeth have got to be best bang for your buck under a tilty, managed to tease it appart then clean out with 600mm

This is at work in village ....loosing a lot of oil while its at it )

Had a guy empty oldtrank ..reckoned his New truck was 450k€ + vat !

Slab in today for garden room, first time using bull float think went ok. Pump blew a hydraulic hose after first metre which slowed things down a bit.

Insulated under the slab think that and UFH will be sufficient. Yes most likely a floating timber floor.

Not been near any plant all week. Just plumbing and paperwork and more plumbing - all bloody week. Had the pleasure of loading a lorry with FLT on Tuesday. which is as good as the week got. Might get the Fassi out to play tomorrow hopefully. Think I might start a new thread called "Plumbing Shite"

Insulated under the slab think that and UFH will be sufficient. Yes most likely a floating timber floor.

I went with 6” above slap as having aircon unit for heat and cool then floating floor.

I can’t claim that sadly (apart from the planning and design) .. Sam is one of our directors and has more commercial experience than I do. He can turn out some impressive work, Been with us for 11 years now and still puts up with me.

Nice day on the North East coast this afternoon, was tweaking a bit of steelwork hanging out over the cliff. We were here a month earlier putting most of it up and was a different story then freezing cold and blowing a houlie .

What should be a simple garden retaining wall footing now a right pain. We did warn them this could happen if they didn’t think about it when they were designing walls. Going to have to do ground beams on pads to bridge over all pipes and it will happen again further along the wall. Think sometimes they dont care and just assume we’ll get over it.
