About 600 meters of path to restore- it's heavily eroded and to make matters worse the path has a disintegrating membrane under it which the errosion has exposed- the spec of the job is to get the membrane up the whole length of path- reinstate path after and use boulders to form cross drains at regular intervals. Flippin glad it's dry at the moment. Access is terrible- took me a few hours of leap frogging the digger over boulders and steep gulleys to get out here so can forget bringing in additional material.

Up here in the lakes they'd have a band of merry volunteers doing that with micro shovels ....in the pouring rain.

Nasty diesel polluting things. Now you only have to walk maximum 15 min and you have everything you want. If you volunteer you get credits to travel to places you only heard about online

Todays Job / Misadventures of a Devon plumber .
Last night leak hunting on a water supply - need to go back and replace supply as leaking under front door. Insurance job so might actually get paid something decent. Will have to be hand digging as VERY tight little lane in the local town. Can just get a van in but no where to turn a trailer.
Over to farm to get loaded with Micro and dumper on the trailer and pulled back from one yard to the other. Had a fight with the horrible Rhinox QH to change bucket as we have bent the locking pin. Dug out the first oil tank base of the year. Kubota dumper pairing nicely with the E10 still. I left and let the 20 year old apprentice take it back to yard - not heard any bad news so assume he survived. Looks like the boys still remember how to lay a spot of concrete at least. We all forgot am edging trowel though, so another trip to fetch that :-( I went off to a newly completed barn conversion where the shower is backing up. We had to gut half the kitchen to get into the 4" as the ground worker hadn't laid separate runs, just teed everything together under the slab. Sam managed to get the new cheap draper £30 camera (cheers for the recommendation whoever it was?) Cable tied it to the drain rods and pushed it down and around bend to find the pipe has been split and blocked by poor backfill and or abuse. No way of fixing this as its under a 4" slab/insulation and Underfloor system and screed and flooring system in a fully booked holiday cottage. Original ground worker deserves a dry slap for this f**k up. We are hopefully able to sort out an alternative drainage route under kitchen units and out through wall to external 4" 'Rodding point' that was left. We were worried we had f***ed up somehow, so a relief that it wasn't us! A really good day as only in office for 3 hours this morning and finished with 2 hours messing with the baby trees at the shed site.

Cracking on with this, most of the fencing up today, 4 posts to do tomorrow then clear up.
Been giving the fire regular attention, reduced the pile by a hell of a lot compared to just letting it smoldering. Melted the end of my blower though
