Had a quote from decent known pool company, the clients QS who is also project managing this job pushed to go for cheaper quote. Not sure what the saving was but i know it was at 5 figures. Cheaper firm were a bunch of idiots so unorganised and dangerous operating aswell. One of there guys told me they not used to site work normally get away with it working in peoples gardens. They hired in a 8t to dig it with a 1.5t dumper just made no sense. They got paid 50k and left a mess. Then took project manager 6months to get temporary propping organised and now their back with the pool company that quoted for it originally. Such a mess and clients spent a fortune on it now. Glad it ended a direct to client item and out of our contract all we did was send email after email saying we were not happy with what was going on. Only ended when our H and S inspector and the clients H and S inspector came to see it and told then not to think about going back in hole until temporary propping organised. Rant over.

Deserve all they get, the QS wants f****ng off too, what a weapon letting that go ahead!

Thats the problem with money up front with some outfits. Yeh it became a problem and they just took soo long to sort out there was no urgency. Luckily no one else was working in that area at that time. We just fenced it off and told everyone on site to stay clear.

Annual local tractor run today in aid of the Lough neagh rescue and Air ambulance N.I.
We go every year to support it. Yesterday the nephew went to wash the Newholland to go and ended up smashing the door.... but we hot to take this instead.

Money up front for digging a hole FFS - surely at most they would be on staged payments?
I’m regularly blown away by how the building industry works, and how little regard for money some (many?) customers appear to have!

I dont know what the agreement was as i said not part of our contract. I imagine it was staged payments. Its a expensive pool anyways having massage jets, jets that ark over pool and has a resistance/swim jet aswell. Its 12m by 5m internal so fair size pool. Dont know what the original overall price was.

Tried to tackle the track motor on the htd5 today and hate to admit it but the sprocket has won the battle today. Will be checking parts are available in the morning and will just cut it out. I do have to say a big FU to the weapon at JCB, that designed where the track motors go and how they are bolted in

It's not the newer motor version it's a 2017, not sure iff the newer motors are retrofitable
