Did years like that on my old hydundai, it’s the best of all worlds. Zero, normal counterweight or super counterweight!

Surely they are the next logical step in mini excators. They all have so much power they will drag themselves round in circles. Are so fast they can be a handful and there aren't many electronic gadgets you can squeeze into one. So it can't be long before additional counterweights or telescopic counterweights become a thing. Also surprised noone offers extending dippers anymore. Although case/eurocomach do a v/a boom which looks really useful but is fitted to a reduced swing machine.

All models are already bumping up against the towing limits though. So it's a natural cutoff.

I don't really understand. Surely the forces on the bucket ram is the same regardless of which way the pallet is facing. Only one pulls in and the other pushes it..but in the right direction with the forks reversed

Rams are stronger pushing than pulling as it's a greater surface area for the pressure to push against

Which is why breakout strength is stronger than when pushing away with bucket….

It is. and yet the main boom ram will push a 3ton machine up and over the blade (ram pulling) yet barely lift 700kg at the same point so can't be much in it

Yeah lots of factors at play so hard to actually work out the force on the ram. But in Giles pic to me that seems a massive cantilevering force on the relatively small bucket ram and associating seals regardless of which way it's turned. Guess they can take it.

It’s also not 1ton on the point of the forks it’s all along them so a lot of the weight is close in, when I picked them up long ways vs wideways definite difference.
Machine was on limit but if you sit pallet lip on blade while manovering it works well enough to load the trailer.

Yeah. I havent quite got the brain capacity for it. But if 2 points of contact are taken by the ground it reduces the pressure on the ram Vs a dumpy bag hanging off the ram at 2 meters leverage.

They are all underestimating how powerful the Kx71-3 is!!!
I only sold them to you as a set came up on S30 that fitted under my Engcon. Having just added a set of forks to the 8ton machine I am a convert of how useful they are on an excavator!!

I’ve had a set for my 8t for years, probably the most used attachment I own, so much easier to us on a tight new build site than a telehandler
