I have always considered buying afew chute sections, but guarantee they’d never fit.. & the driver would cry about it!

Ruins me when they only turn up with 1 chute

Builders trestles and a length of 300mm twin wall work ok for fixed runs. Nothing beats a full set of chutes though. At least with volumetrics you have a fair reach to begin with.

Can’t beat the speed of a drum emptying flat out down a full section of chutes , can send it a fair old way
vollys are great for placing it within reach but just slow on big pours!

Can't beat a volley as your plus load though rather than pouring concrete into the muck pile

I've got 1. Trouble is now they don't have proper metal shoots. They have a bit of flat bar with plastic shoot. I've added extra shoot and it bends the trucks last shoot

Rare moment waiting for dumper. Bucket will pick up enough to easily lift a track when over the side and will tip it over the front if it’s a really big scoop of clay , so guessing 1500 kg of material plus bucket? Maybe a little more. Can get 3.5-4 in the 6t dumper.
Burning some diesel across the 3 machines .
Getting 15-20 loads an hour so between 600-900 tons shifted today. Starting to enjoy it till we had a smattering of rain and the clay starting sticking to my boots.
Found a few trenches showing up when stripping yesterday. One there that dad didn’t recognise. Dug it out to have a look and it’s a very early stone/rubble drain. Lots of quartz in it so imported stone. 18th or 19th century (that’s what mother reckons from agri history pages) Given the fill stone not looking immediately local
I would guess mid to late Victorian earliest as that’s when the railway came through - old station only a mile done the hill. Strange to think about the lads that hand dug that, and hauled it with horses. They would marvel at todays machines for sure.

The important end of the shed is on the cut. The fodder end will be on the fill but that's going to be earth floor for foreseeable. Will run the BIG wacker over that bit, although the wheel digger is packing it in pretty tight.

What make is it?

Stone burrier is a remac imported by kilworth. Really heavy built makes an excellent job. Pretty keen drive though and very heavy on the tractor

Kioti dx6010 really impressed with it, better built and i expect does really well and a few neat features that would be must haves when I go to change it! If nobody else offers the same features it will be another the same!

I'm like a pig in s**t this week. Best holiday ever. Rather be doing this than anything else. Ignoring work and actually relaxing and listening to the radio properly for the first time in ages. 38 hours logged on the CX130 since Sunday. Shifting some dirt and making a mess. Levels slowly coming together, first time I've done anything like this and I'm enjoying it . BIL busy making it pretty on the fill so all my amateur excavation mess will be hidden (fortunately). My younger cousin on the dumper.
Burnt 250 litres of Deisel today..
