Tilty very handy today

Grab works without dropping gripper off which is handy for odd bits ...when grab opens fully then the gripper gets oil.

This gave me a moment waiting at the lights :)

Todays job, somewhat hampered by failed quick hitch on hired in 8t CAT, x 2 !! Operator 1 tracks of 1.5M high pile of material using bucket to control dissent, rear jaw of hitch fails, ( machine has about 100hrs from new) Replacement identical machine, similar age and hrs. on site in 3 hrs. great service from Skelton Plant, approx 4 hrs. later operator 2 using ditching bucket to tidy up reports failed hitch ! exact same failure, third machine to be delivered tomorrow AM ? hopefully not equipped with Strickland hitch☹️View attachment 59711View attachment 59712

Went to dig out the old MH this morning pulled cover ¾ fill of 💩.
Looks like where we stopped all the leaking tank filled up, lucky as if we had left it another day would be 💩 everywhere.
Managed to get a tanker out and empty it within a few hours, put pay to that job today, so reinstated a few bits.

Yesterday I plowed for the first time in about 40 years
I manage approx. 100 acres plowed up in one day
this included changing 8 plow tips and a plow blade
Yes, it is not a straight line
but before you laugh, remember that it's been about 40 years since I last did this 🙄🤔

Found a pipe that thought was live put cobra up and hit something. Tried all taps etc nothing coming out, realised then had the camera i bought on the van. Stick it on the cobra and videoed, result pipe had been capped off. 🤗
Old out it was back falling, no concrete straight onto clay! Electric cable running around the MH.
Just about managed to get new 1 in mostly on slip collars.

Machine No 3 , delivered mid morning so pretty good service from Skeletons I feel, Kobelco 8t not almost new as the Cats were, fitted with another Strickland hitch but slightly larger model I think. Haven’t had a chance to examine it in detail yet as so much going on at the moment on this job.
Good day today, no broken hitches today :ROFLMAO:
